Bowling Academy
The Leisure Isle Bowling Club has an established Bowling Academy that provides individual and group coaching and training services to all their new member players, beginners, competitive players and social players too.
These programmes are based on the specific wants and needs of all lawn bowlers who are either new to the game or at various stages of self-development and striving for betterment.
The Leisure Isle Bowling Club further recognises and supports the Bowls South Africa (BSA) main transformation focus that lawn bowls is no longer a retirees-sport only. It is a “SPORT for All AGES, A SPORT for EVERYONE” to play, enjoy and have fun.
The Bowling Academy’s coaching and training programmes have therefore been developed with this progressive shift in mind for all bowler categories.

The Bowling Academy provides a standardised method of coaching to ensure that new members and beginners all receive the same message from their qualified team of experienced coaches who are also registered through the same programme.
New Players (Beginners and New Members) will therefore benefit from being taught the same standardised method officially endorsed by Bowls South Africa (BSA) known as the Clinic Technique: Grip, Stance and Delivery.
Within just a few lessons, you will be taught and shown this technique:
How to grip the bowl
How to have the correct stance
How to deliver the jack

Other basic aspects of the game
So if the bug bites and you are you keen to play this great game, our coaches can assist you on the type of equipment, bowls models and sizes available. They can also provide you with a list of suppliers who will arrange a professional fitting for you at no fitment cost.
