Your Questions, Answered

  • There is no booking of courts as the Club does not have a full time manager. Play depends on the availability of courts on a first come first served basis with members having preference. However, certain regular groups of players (authorised by the Tennis Executive) have reserved times when a number of courts are set aside on a particular time and day of the week. A list of these are displayed on the Tennis noice board. Junior school Scholars are to be under the supervision of grown ups.- Suitable tennis attire and non-marking shoes are to be worn whilst playing.

    - Cordial and sporting behaviour is expected of all players.

    - Because the courts are in a residential area all players are requested to avoid making excess noise.

  • On Club days normally starting at 2 pm the courts are reserved for social tennis. Tennis balls are provided by the Club and filtered cold water, juice, tea and coffee are available. All Adult members are welcome provided that they have an adequate level of tennis. For each set of tennis the members are paired at random usually attempting to have a balance of ability so that a close set ensues.

On arrival place racket in Winners/Losers rack under “Next Set”.

A Committee Member (if available) or other member is to organise games.

If a player sits out for any reason, and later rejoins, their racket is to be placed Last in the Loser's side of the rack. Players may arrange their own sets after 16:30 but not during the High Season (usually January to March) if there are 3 players or more waiting to play.

Normally a set is won by the first team to reach 6 games. Sides are usually swopped after 4 games but where all players agree this may be changed so that after 2 games, sides are changed as per ITF regulations. When more than 16 players are present short sets are played, won by the first team to reach 5 games, with golden deuces (sudden death point after the deuce)

  • Members are welcome to arrange sets with court usage on a first come first served basis.

They are responsible for providing their own tennis balls. When the Clubhouse is locked a toilet (lockbox) is available in the sheds between the A and B bowls greens. For details contact Marti 082 859 2418.

  • Coaching is available at the club.

Please contact Danny Moscosa (our Resident Club Coach) on 067 308 5180. Members of the Club are entitled to a reduction in fees.

  • The Club is required to hold an AGM as soon as possible after the start of each calendar year. This normally happens in February. The purpose of the meeting is to report to the members on Club matters including the activities of the previous year, the finances, to deal with any other business and to elect the ExCo to manage the Club for the year.

  • The courts are kept locked and Members have access via a lockbox. Visitors are welcome to play when the courts are open, except on Club afternoons (Wednesdays, Saturdays and Public Holidays), subject to the payment of visitors' fees before playing. Visitors may also play with Club members on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons once a month (if invited by a club member), with prior approval of the Chairperson and having paid visitors' fees.

Courts are left open during school holidays.
